Dear Dr. Miller,
Thank you very much for introducing Dr. Tu's great discovery to the wide world and leading a much deserved major award to her.
Your article (the English and Chinese editions) on her contribution are very informative and educational. I believe they will become BenchMarks, too.
However, I also read someone claimed that Yi Rao has played a very big role in obtaining recognition for Dr. Tu. The reason is that Rao recently (on August 22, 2011) published a Chinese blog article (http://bbs.sciencenet.cn/home.php?mod=space&uid=2237&do=blog&id=478156) which introduced Dr. Tu's work. Interestingly, right after the publication of your article and the announcement of the Lasker Award, Rao posted the English version of his article (http://bbs.sciencenet.cn/home.php?mod=space&uid=2237&do=blog&id=485860).
I know that, from submitting a manuscript to publishing a paper, it will take some time. When did you submit you paper to Cell?
I guess you might have played a big role in leading to the award of Lasker Award to Dr. Tu. Is this true? Have you also nominated her for a Nobel Prize which is also well suited for her great contribution?
I know that you are very busy but I wish you can give me some short answers.
Best regards,
Shi V. Liu MD PhD
